To be given an opportunity to have a season like this past fall with the Knights was a blessing. Having been one of the original No Limit Soldiers (139-19 regular season) and having seen that team go from a team that won almost every game it ever played to a 3 year championship draught, from 2001 to 2004. Then to be a part of the reconstruction to post another 10-0 season was special. But alias then came the Spring 2005 championship…..

In a game that No Limit had won, to lose it on a 75 yard touchdown return of a fumble which was the start of downward spiral. After that game the team was suspended from the league. This led to a long summer where many of the principle players were looking favorably to retirement.

From out of the blue we were given a chance to play again as a members of the Knights organization was a pleasant surprise. Everything that was done on the Knights was first class, from organization to appearance. The first game that we broke out with the Laker Yellow uniforms I had a friend in town with his boys playing in a soccer tournament. “You guys were pretty easy to find, you look like a professional team.”, he stated.

It was that way throughout the season. Only 7 of us from No Limit were added to a young and extremely talented Knights team. It came together so quickly that we were all surprised by our immediate success. But the games were not played without some laments as many of our teammates had also moved to other teams. Playing against friends is a double edge sword because you want to get scoreboard on them, but they also know your game. We got through it.

The weirdest part of the season was “No Rainouts”. To be done with the season before Thanksgiving is unheard of. So we began the holiday seasons with a year ending 10-0 championship, visions of retirement dancing in our head. How do you come back to play again after a perfect season?

I mean PERFECT!! I didn’t get my first penalty or give up a sack until the championship game (bad call).

I tell you with the price of gas falling and the SA connection potentially coming to town it almost…..ALMOST makes me want to run it back one more time.

Naw, time for new blood to take it over. It’s been real.

No worries, I stretch first. Better safe than a sorry. What does 6-4 feel like? Have never lost more than 2 games?

Not as good as 10-0, I'm sure.

I even tried to do some research before I replied. I'm sure that I located the wrong team information.

But man the Austin board is so dead that I was really trying to stir the pot and get some activity going. But no one else in Austin really post. Don't quite understand way.

What I really want to know is What happened to the Assassians. They win B last fall move up to A in the Spring and get in the playoffs (that was disappointing) then they dropped out? What was it Gas?

I also want to know if anyone from B is going to move up. But if the 5-3 team wins the championship over the 7-1 team I doubt it.

I could see why the potential loss of A division makes sense. It's a good bad, you don't play as many tough games, bad, but you get to play more different teams.

This could help create more A quality teams but it could potentially kill starting out teams spirit.

Anyway....please bring some flavor to the Austin board.

We're working on it!

I could regale you for hours with the tales of crappy seasons we've had. We had a group of 12 different people every season. About 4 seasons ago we finally got a group that stuck together. Since then we've had couple of winning seasons in a row (6-4, but we were 5-0 and then lost a game that knocked us out of the playoffs and it was downhill from there).

Now it's on to be for us, no waiting. We'd like to get some experience and become SA's second traveling team.

contact flag sounds fun, I may have to try it out!

And don't mind Jimmy, he's got this need to talk smack to everyone he meets.
